Center Parcs Launches a Free Sensory Library at Elveden Forest

We’re incredibly proud to announce the launch of the Sensory Library at Center Parcs Elveden Forest, with expert guidance from SENNIES. 🌳💚

The free library gives families access to practical sensory and communication resources throughout their stay, including noise-reducing ear defenders, fidget toys, calming lights, visual timers, communication boards and more.

And importantly, no diagnosis is needed. If you feel your child would benefit from the resources, you can use them.

Why does it matter?

Research with 500 UK parents and legal guardians of neurodivergent children and children with additional needs found that 72% bring sensory equipment or comfort items from home on every or most trips, while 68% said being able to borrow sensory items during their holiday would help their family feel more supported.

The Sensory Library is a practical response to that feedback — helping families access support without having to pack everything themselves.

Center Parcs asked SENNIES to provide expert advice on the pilot, including reviewing the resources, considering safety and suitability, shaping the language around the service and supporting the team delivering it.

But this is just the beginning.

We want families to tell us what they love, what works for their children and, importantly, what they feel is missing.

We’re already in the process of onboarding new suppliers so we can continue to widen the range based directly on feedback from SEN families.

The library also complements Center Parcs’ existing Sensory Lodge at Elveden Forest and wider accessibility provision, and we’re proud to support them as they continue developing their approach to supporting neurodivergent guests.

Whilst SENNIES has supported this pilot, we’re also in discussions about a longer-term partnership. We hope this is the first step in a much bigger journey towards supporting Center Parcs’ mission to create more neuroinclusive holidays for all.
