Wage / Salary:

Approx £30,000 per annum gross (annualised and paid each month)

Days & Hours:

Term time only – 35 weeks per year. Primarily based at Dad’s home, with some support required at Mum’s home.

  • Monday, Wednesday and Friday: 6:00am–9:00am and 2:30pm–7:30pm (Once per month: Friday evening until 11:00pm)
  • Tuesday: 2:30pm–8:00pm
  • Thursdays: 3:00pm–11:00pm

February, March, and November: 3 full Saturdays per month

Flexibility is required. A structured two-week rota (shared between both nannies) will be agreed before the start date.

Essential Skills/Traits:
  • 2+ years of SEN childcare experience 
  • Experience supporting two or more children simultaneously, ideally siblings
  • Strong understanding of ADHD and experience supporting children with PDA/ODD
  • Resilient, adaptable, and able to maintain composure during challenging situations
  • Flexible and willing to adjust to the changing needs of the family
  • Confident in liaising and collaborating with other professionals involved in the children’s care
  • Patient, empathetic, and able to provide calm, consistent support during times of stress
  • Skilled at creating structure, setting boundaries, and promoting positive behaviour
  • Strong communication skills to keep parents and professionals informed and aligned

Main duties/responsibilities
  • Provide consistent, calm, and supportive care for G11 and B9, helping them manage their emotions, frustrations, and energy levels.
  • Support B9 with ADHD-related needs, including supervising interactions with the family dog, managing challenging behaviours, and reinforcing emotional regulation strategies.
  • Assist G11 with self-confidence, social skills, emotional expression, and processing sibling dynamics, including supporting a healthier relationship with B9.
  • Help both children establish and maintain healthy routines, including morning and evening schedules, personal hygiene, and mealtimes.
  • Support G11 with organisation and time management for schoolwork, extracurricular activities, and hobbies, providing encouragement and guidance as needed.
  • Reinforce therapy goals and strategies at home, including approaches from their weekly specialist child and adolescent psychotherapist and EMDR sessions.
  • Monitor and manage screen time, homework, and leisure activities to ensure balance, structure, and engagement in age-appropriate activities.
  • Collaborate closely with parents, the lead SENNIE, and other professionals to ensure consistent approaches and communication strategies are maintained across both households.
  • Facilitate social interactions, play, and structured activities that build confidence, teamwork, and resilience for both children.
  • Travel with the family for school holidays or planned trips, implementing consistent routines and support during domestic and international travel.
