The family would like a Sennie who is open to providing occasional overnight care when required and is also willing to travel with them on family trips.

Essential Skills/Traits:
  • Minimum of 2+ years SEN childcare experience
  • Proven experience caring for children with epilepsy, with confidence in managing seizures and administering medication safely and calmly.
  • A vibrant, positive personality with a great sense of humour and a genuine love of play and fun.
  • Passionate about planning and delivering engaging activities that promote learning, development, and enjoyment.
  • Confident in arranging playdates, outings, and adventures that encourage social interaction and exploration.
  • A strong swimmer who enjoys spending time in the water, supporting G9 in one of her favourite therapeutic activities.
  • A competent driver is essential – a nanny car will be provided for appointments, and outings.

Main duties/responsibilities
  • Provide attentive, consistent, and nurturing care for G9, supporting her emotional wellbeing, independence, and developmental goals.
  • Support G9 in developing practical life skills, including self-feeding, toileting, fine and gross motor skills, and learning to play independently with toys.
  • Facilitate movement-based activities and sensory regulation strategies, such as swimming, trampoline play, swings, and other physical activities that she enjoys.
  • Monitor and manage G9’s epilepsy, administering medication and responding calmly and appropriately to seizures or changes in her condition.
  • Support social and emotional development, encouraging positive interactions with peers and adults while fostering confidence and engagement.
  • Occasionally work with B6 to encourage outdoor play, structured games, and social skill development, providing guidance and support in a playful, patient manner.
  • Maintain clear, consistent routines to help both children feel secure, supported, and regulated throughout the day.
  • Plan and facilitate age-appropriate activities and outings that are engaging, fun, and developmentally supportive for both children.
  • Collaborate with parents and, where relevant, therapists or school staff to ensure consistency of care, reinforcement of strategies, and progress toward developmental goals.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with both children, fostering joy, curiosity, and confidence through playful and supportive interactions.
