  • Monday and Wednesday: 10am - 4pm

Above are the preferable hours, however, the family can be flexible for the right candidate.

Essential Skills/Traits:
  • Minimum of 2+ years SEN childcare experience 
  • Demonstrated experience working with children who have experienced trauma
  • Deep understanding of emotional regulation, attachment, and the impact of early experiences on behaviour and development.
  • Skilled in creating safe, predictable, and nurturing environments where children feel secure, valued, and understood.
  • Ability to identify signs of stress or dysregulation and respond calmly with empathy and reassurance.

Main duties/responsibilities
  • Provide consistent, attuned, and nurturing support to B8 at home and during outings, ensuring his emotional safety and well-being.
  • Support attachment and relationship-building by creating a calm, predictable, and trustworthy environment.
  • Encourage learning through small, achievable opportunities that align with B8’s interests, including reading, space, vehicles, and technology.
  • Facilitate hands-on, play-based, and outdoor activities to promote engagement, confidence, and skill development.
  • Support social confidence and emotional regulation through co-regulation, reassurance, and modelling positive interactions.
  • Observe, monitor, and respond to cues around stress, anxiety, or dysregulation, providing sensitive and patient guidance.
  • Work collaboratively with the family to implement therapeutic strategies and reinforce routines that promote security, learning, and resilience.
  • Act as a consistent, supportive adult presence, helping B8 develop independence, curiosity, and enjoyment in everyday life.
