Essential Skills/Traits:

2+ years of SEN childcare experience, ideally with early years children
Experience supporting speech and communication development — able to implement SLT strategies in play and daily routines
Confident supporting potty training and self-care skills with a child with autistic traits
Energetic, playful and engaging — able to keep up with a very active young child
Patient, nurturing and emotionally attuned
Experience introducing new foods and supporting feeding in a calm, low pressure way
Understanding of sensory regulation and the role of movement and outdoor play
Able to provide structured but flexible support throughout the day
Warm and affectionate — able to build trust quickly with a child who bonds strongly with familiar adults
Available for a 3-week temporary placement in Oxfordshire from mid July 2026
