Days & Hours:

Approx 32.5 hours per week

Monday - Friday: 7.30am - 10am and the 2.30pm to 6.30pm

Essential Skills/Traits:
  • 2+ years of SEN childcare experience
  • Kind, patient, and nurturing, with a calm and grounded approach.
  • Able to be firm yet gentle, providing clear boundaries and consistent routines.
  • Strong understanding of ADHD and autistic behaviours
  • Energetic, fit, and outdoorsy, with a genuine enjoyment of physical activity and active play.
  • Proactive and confident in taking initiative, planning activities, and managing daily routines.
  • Highly organised, reliable, and able to prioritise the children’s needs throughout the day.
  • Flexible and adaptable, able to adjust to changing circumstances, varying energy levels, and unexpected challenges.

Main duties/responsibilities
  • Provide consistent, patient, and structured one-to-one support tailored to each child’s individual needs, including emotional, social, and behavioural support.
  • Help B16 build confidence, maintain motivation, and engage with school and personal goals through structured autonomy and gentle guidance.
  • Support B15 (Thomas) in developing social skills, confidence, and emotional regulation, providing reassurance and positive feedback.
  • Manage B7’s emotional regulation and behavioural challenges, using calm, firm, and consistent strategies, de-escalation techniques, and positive reinforcement.
  • Establish and maintain predictable daily routines for all three children, including school preparation, travel, and transitions.
  • Assist with homework, learning activities, and skill-building tasks appropriate to each child’s developmental level.
  • Facilitate social, recreational, and physical activities, including outdoor play, sports, and interests such as cycling, horses, or football.
  • Liaise with schools, therapists, and other professionals to ensure consistent strategies and reinforcement across home and educational settings.
  • Encourage independence, life skills, and positive social interactions, while providing support and guidance as needed.
  • Maintain a calm, safe, and nurturing environment that promotes well being, confidence, and emotional stability for all children.
