Wage / Salary:

Between £30,000 - £33,000 per annum gross

Days & Hours:

Term Time: Approx 20 hours per week.

  • Tues, Weds, Thurs, Fri 2 pm - 7 pm 

There is potentially some flexibility for the right person.

 

School holidays: Approx 42 hours per week.

  • Tues, Weds, Thurs, Fri:  8.30am - 7pm

Essential Skills/Traits:
  • 2+ years of SEN childcare experience 
  • Reliable and dependable, able to maintain consistent routines and support.
  • Sensible and level-headed, able to make calm decisions in challenging situations.
  • Patient and understanding.
  • Fun, engaging, and able to build a positive rapport with B15.
  • Approachable and warm, fostering trust and a strong relationship with B15.
  • Adaptable and flexible.
  • Strong communication skills, able to liaise effectively with parents and other professionals.
  • Observant and proactive.

Main duties/responsibilities
  • Provide consistent, patient, and supportive care for B15, helping him feel secure and confident.
  • Support B15’s social development, encouraging friendships and positive interactions with peers.
  • Assist with attention, concentration, and focus, implementing strategies to help him engage in tasks and activities.
  • Encourage independence in daily activities, including practicing life skills such as going to a shop and making small purchases.
  • Support self-regulation, helping B15 manage anxiety and reduce repetitive speech or behaviours using calm and structured approaches.
  • Facilitate independent play and perseverance in new activities, encouraging him to try multiple times before giving up.
  • Implement and reinforce strategies from Zones of Regulation to support emotional awareness and control.
  • Support academic learning, including reading, homework, and other school-related tasks.
  • Plan and participate in regular movement breaks and physical activities to help manage energy and promote wellbeing.
  • Work consistently with therapies and interventions recommended by professionals, including strategies for ADHD, Autism, language development, and anxiety management.
  • Maintain clear communication with parents regarding progress, challenges, and strategies used.
