Essential Skills/Traits:

Previous experience supporting children with SEN; 2+ years' experience
Experience supporting autistic children, ideally including children with communication and sensory needs
Friendly, patient, and nurturing approach, particularly when supporting a child with limited verbal communication
Energetic, proactive and creative, with the ability to plan engaging after-school activities while responding flexibly to G8's energy and regulation needs
Vigilant, responsible and safety-conscious, particularly when supporting G8 outside the home and in the community
Confident supporting G8's communication naturally through everyday interaction, play, modelling language, offering choices, singing and encouraging her to express her needs and preferences
A strong communicator who will maintain open, regular communication with parents and work collaboratively with the family
