Essential Skills/Traits:

2+ years of SEN childcare experience
Caring, patient and calm — comfortable with a low demand, home-based approach
Understanding of non-verbal communication, gesture and basic signing
Confident supporting transitions and de-escalating frustration in a gentle, reassuring way
Strong activity planning skills — able to keep a child engaged and avoid boredom during downtime
Experience implementing strategies from OT, speech therapy, physiotherapy and psychology
Energetic but mindful of pacing — understanding that G5 tires easily and needs rest
Confident walking with a buddy system to and from nursery/school (15-minute walk)
Comfortable around dogs
Looking for a long-term, ongoing role
Open to occasional babysitting and the possibility of joining the family on holiday once or twice a year
