Wage / Salary:

Full-Time role - Approx £37,800 - £46,200 per annum gross Weekend role - From £20 per hour gross

Days & Hours:

Term Time:

  • Monday to Friday: 7am - 8am and 3pm - 8pm 

School Holidays:

  • Monday to Friday: 7am - 7pm 

Weekend Role: Approx 16-24 hours per week

  • Saturday and Sunday: Between 8 & 12 hours per day

Driver:

The family offers exclusive use of a large room in their spacious six-bedroom Edwardian home with off-street parking. They are also open to expediting plans for a private garden annex. The home features a relaxing private garden and is ideally located in Summertown, Oxford, just minutes from shops, cafés, restaurants, and excellent transport links to the city centre.

  • 2+ Years SEN Childcare experience
  • Experience with ASD and ADHD

Main duties/responsibilities
  • Provide compassionate, patient, and consistent support to a young person with autism, ensuring her needs are understood and met.
  • Use previous experience to assist with building independence, managing anxiety, and supporting the development of emotional regulation skills.
  • Create and maintain a calm, structured, and nurturing environment while remaining adaptable to changing needs and strategies.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively, offering consistent guidance and engaging in positive one-to-one interactions.
  • Plan and deliver creative and engaging activities that encourage G13’s interests, particularly in arts, crafts, and drawing, while also introducing new opportunities for growth.
  • Support G13 in managing demand avoidance and navigating social situations with confidence.
  • Remain patient, empathetic, and composed during moments of heightened emotion, helping G13 feel safe, understood, and supported.
  • Work proactively and collaboratively with the family and school to ensure aligned and cohesive support approaches.
  • Encourage G13’s confidence, independence, and overall development, helping her thrive both emotionally and academically.
  • Strategies that the family currently use and would like the Sennie to continue to build upon, with additional training if required:
    • Weekly group,activities to support social interaction
    • Individual support sessions to support G13 self regulation / zones of regulation
    • Use of visual timetables and preparation for transitions with appropriate breaks for movement and to support focus
    • Medication Management for ADHD and anxiety
    • Working alongside and able to continue at home therapies from
    • Specialist inputs (i.e. occupational therapy, educational psychology) 
    • Use of  sensory toys, ear defenders, and adapting environments based on sensory needs.
