  • Monday - Thursday: 3.30pm - 6.30pm (some flexibility on the days)

  • Looking for help during the summer holidays (could be the same person as above or different)

Essential Skills/Traits:
  • 2+ years SEN childcare experience 
  • Calm, patient, and kind approach
  • Warm and open-hearted, with a genuine enjoyment of supporting children 
  • Respectful of children’s need for downtime, space, and decompression
  • Ability to tune into each child’s individual preferences and energy levels
  • Confident supporting big emotions/meltdowns if needed, with calm and care
  • Responsible and confident driver
  • Comfortable working alongside parents who may be working from home, flexible and adaptable
  • Reliable, and committed to building a relationship with the girls
  • Ideally knows or is curious about Pokemon, Minecraft, and/or coding or video games
  • Prior experience with PDA profiles and/or managing siblings is a bonus, but not a requirement

Main duties/responsibilities
  • Collect G11 and G9 from school each afternoon and drive them home (during the summer, collect G9 from the club at 3pm and/or stay home with the girls).
  • Create a low-demand, emotionally safe environment that allows both children to decompress and recharge.
  • Respect and support the girls’ need for independent downtime while remaining available for guidance, conversation, and support as needed.
  • Show a genuine interest in their projects (especially for G9), ask questions and follow up (when they are open to talking about them). If possible, engage alongside them in their favourite activities (e.g. playing Pokemon cards with G9, talking about Pokemon Unite or Minecraft, etc.). 
  • Hold big feelings when needed and navigate conflict between the siblings with calm and compassion.
  • Break routines into manageable steps for G9, providing reminders and structure in a calm, encouraging way.
  • Work collaboratively and maintain clear communication with parents. 
  • Prepare tea as required. Children have a stable and consistent group of meals they enjoy (such as eggs on toast, pasta, sandwiches).
