  • Minimum of 2+ years SEN childcare experience 
  • Able to engage and entertain children without screens through creative, playful activities.
  • High energy and stamina..
  • Confident in leading stimulating, structured play.
  • Able to follow SLT strategies.
  • Skilled in supporting social skills.
  • Patient and calm when helping with emotional regulation, focus, and transitions.
  • Strong communication with parents to ensure consistent strategies and updates.
  • Warm, nurturing, and playful approach.

Main duties/responsibilities
  • Provide consistent 1:1 support for B4 within the home environment, creating a calm, structured, and engaging daily routine.
  • Implement early learning activities to help prepare B4 for Reception, using play-based and autism-informed approaches that build joint attention, turn-taking, and early cognitive skills.
  • Support B4’s communication development by modelling sounds, encouraging vocalisation, using simple speech-and-language strategies, and integrating early interventions such as Attention Autism and PECS-style exchanges.
  • Meet B4’s sensory needs throughout the day, incorporating movement breaks, trampoline time, hammock use, and other regulating activities to help him stay calm and focused.
  • Balance child-led exploration with motivating adult-led tasks that develop attention, participation, and the ability to follow simple routines.
  • Create a safe, predictable environment where B4 can explore, learn, and build confidence while managing sensory sensitivities.
  • Work collaboratively with parents to maintain consistency, follow advice from speech therapy or other professionals, and adapt activities to support B4’s ongoing development.
  • Encourage positive social interaction and early independence skills suitable for his stage of development.
