Wage / Salary:

Between £40,000 - £50,000 per annum gross

Days & Hours:

Term Time: Approx 30 hours 

  • Monday - Friday: 2pm - 8pm

School Holidays: Approx 50 hours per week

  • Monday - Friday: 9am - 7pm

Flexibility on hours/days for the right candidate.

Extra babysitting (includes bed time and staying late) - once a week on average including Thursdays and Fridays (won't be regular and it will be asked in advance). Paid at overtime.

Essential Skills/Traits:
  • 2+ Years SEN Childcare experience
  • Clean, Full UK Driving Licence and confident in driving
  • Strong emotional intelligence and the ability to remain calm, grounded, and consistent in the face of dysregulation or challenging behaviours
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to work closely with parents and professionals as part of a wider support team
  • Highly organised and adaptable, able to manage both structured routines and flexible day-to-day changes based on the child’s emotional state
  • Proactive, warm, and fun, with a genuine interest in engaging a child through their interests such as sports, art, games, and outdoor play
  • Willing and ideally able to travel with the family 2–3 times a year (including overseas), providing consistent support in new environments
  • Open to occasional evening babysitting or light family PA tasks when time allows

Main duties/responsibilities
  • Provide warm, nurturing care tailored to B11’s individual needs and strengths
  • Use a total communication approach, supporting non-verbal communication through AAC devices, visual aids, gestures, and other alternative methods
  • Support emotional regulation, especially during toileting challenges or periods of dysregulation related to sensory needs or hunger
  • Plan and engage B11 in physical, sensory-friendly activities such as swimming, skating, bike riding, and outdoor play
  • Monitor and support B11’s sensory needs using calming strategies, sensory tools, and environmental adjustments
  • Assist with self-care routines, including toileting, hygiene, and dressing, encouraging growing independence and confidence
  • Prepare and support a consistent daily routine that helps B11 feel secure and regulated
  • Provide calm, structured responses to dysregulation, ensuring a safe and supportive environment at all times
  • Collaborate with parents and other professionals (e.g., therapists) to ensure a holistic, consistent approach to B11’s care and development
  • Maintain light housekeeping tasks related to the child (e.g., tidying toys, cleaning up after activities)
  • Prepare healthy meals and snacks in line with any dietary needs or preferences
  • Observe and track B11’s progress in communication, regulation, and self-care to help inform future strategies and support
