Wage / Salary:

£40,716 per annum gross

Days & Hours:

Monday–Friday, live-in

  • Term time: approx. 38 hours per week (roughly a 7am–8pm span, with a break once school and household tasks are done)
  • School holidays: longer full days, approx. 12 hours, in line with the school's holiday pattern
  • Occasional paid weekend overtime, by mutual agreement

Essential Skills/Traits:
  • 2+ years of SEN childcare experience
  • Confident driver
  • Confident, enthusiastic cook, happy to cook for the whole family
  • Patient, resilient and proactive, comfortable working independently
  • Confident supporting Autism and ADHD, including liaising with school around EHCP/1:1 support
  • Genuinely enjoys rural, countryside living
  • Happy to take the initiative with household organisation and food shopping alongside childcare
  • Warm, fun and easy to spend time with
  • Looking for a genuine long-term role (minimum one year)

Main duties/responsibilities
  • Support the morning routine and school run, and school pick-up, Monday to Friday
  • Provide afternoon and evening support for both children
  • Support B10, working consistently with strategies from his EHCP and 1:1 support at school
  • Help reduce bickering between the twins and support positive sibling dynamics
  • Build on declarative language strategies for B10
  • Encourage a positive, varied relationship with food for both children in a calm, non-pressured way
  • Take the initiative with household organisation, food shopping and family cooking
  • General tidying of the children's spaces, encouraging their own independence in keeping rooms tidy
  • Provide longer, full days of care during school holidays, in line with the school's holiday pattern
  • Liaise closely with the father on routines, progress and any changes needed
