Approx 15 - 20 hours per week 

  • Monday: 2pm - 7.30pm
  • Wednesday: 2pm - 7pm
  • Friday: 3pm - 7.30pm

(Please note that notekeeping will be required after each shift)

Essential Skills/Traits:
  • Minimum 2 years SEN childcare experience
  • Confident, naturally authoritative, able to set and maintain boundaries with children and parent in a warm, respectful way
  • Professional, credible, and able to establish rapport quickly with children and adults
  • High emotional intelligence; understands family dynamics, sibling relationships, and school systems
  • Strong SEN knowledge with practical experience implementing therapeutic and educational strategies
  • Skilled in pacing and structuring play-based activities to support learning and independence
  • Clear and professional in written documentation
  • Able to assess risk dynamically and respond to ensure safety and wellbeing
  • Creative and adaptable communicator; basic BSL skills or willingness to learn desirable
  • Holds full, clean UK driving licence and confident driving
  • Flexible, organised, and willing to work across split sites, including school and home settings

Main duties/responsibilities
  • Provide daily support for G11 with homework, therapy tasks, and structured learning activities in fun, play-based ways.
  • Implement guidance and strategies from her multidisciplinary team, including Speech & Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, and Physiotherapy.
  • Support emotional regulation, promote engagement, and encourage G11 to take ownership of her behaviour.
  • Establish and maintain consistent routines, rules, and expectations at home, collaborating with mum to embed strategies across daily life.
  • Facilitate sibling interactions with G8, including family-wide activities and behavioural strategies, allowing G11 focused time while supporting age-appropriate independence for G8.
  • Use therapeutic and educational interventions to develop G11’s social, cognitive, and practical skills in alignment with her abilities.
  • Support and guide G11 with tasks involving reading, writing, maths, crafts, and play, ensuring activities are achievable and motivating.
  • Encourage participation in daily life and household responsibilities, helping G11 develop confidence, independence, and engagement with her family unit.
  • Monitor G11’s wellbeing, behaviour, and progress, and report effectively to mum and relevant therapists as required.
  • Support family routines beyond G11’s individual needs, including involvement in training and implementing strategies for the family dog as part of the household environment.
