Sennie (SEN SPECIALIST NANNY) for B5

Location: Maida Vale, W9

 

Wage / Salary: Between £37,440 - £41,600 per annum gross

 

Driver: Non-Essential 

 

Live In/out: Live-out

 

Pets: None

 

Days & Hours: Approx. 40–50 hours per week

 

  • Monday – Friday: 8am – 6pm (preferable)

 

Mum is flexible and happy to offer the option for the role to be spread across 4 or 5 days a week, with variation depending on term time or holidays. During term time, B5 attends forest school one day a week on Fridays, so hours that day may be reduced or adjusted accordingly.

 

Start Date: ASAP

 

Main Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Provide consistent, warm, and emotionally attuned care to create a secure and trusting environment for B5.
  • Support B5’s fine motor skill development through engaging, creative, and pressure-free activities such as Lego play, drawing, cutting, and writing.
  • Encourage and model expressive and receptive communication to support speech development, incorporating strategies used by his Speech and Language Therapist.
  • Foster B5’s love of learning through imaginative play, storytelling, and exploring his interests (e.g. maps, books, fairy tales) as tools for social, emotional, and cognitive growth.
  • Observe and respond sensitively to signs of dysregulation, using co-regulation techniques to help B5 build emotional awareness and resilience.
  • Encourage social interaction and confidence-building activities that align with B5’s interests and comfort levels.
  • Use positive reinforcement and a calm, consistent approach to build B5’s self-esteem and sense of capability, particularly when trying challenging or new tasks.
  • Support B5’s engagement with therapies (e.g., speech therapy, occupational therapy) by reinforcing recommended strategies and integrating them into daily routines and play.
  • Help B5 navigate transitions and manage impulsivity with supportive, structured routines and clear, gentle boundaries.
  • Maintain communication with B5’s parent and professionals involved in his care, sharing observations and collaborating to support his ongoing development.
