Wage / Salary: Between £28,730 - £31,603 per annum gross

 

Driver: Non-Essential

 

Live In/out: Live out

 

Pets: None

 

Days & Hours:  

Term Time: Approx 27 hours per week

  • Monday and Friday: 7.30am-10.30am & 2.30pm-7.30pm
  • Wednesday: 7.30am-10.30am & 2.30pm - 10.30pm

 

School Holidays: Approx 29.5 hours per week

  • Monday and Friday: 9am-5pm
  • Wednesday: 9am-10.30pm

Flexibility offered and required during holidays

 

Start Date: Ideally February

 

Who would suit this role:

  • Has Experience Supporting Children with ASD and ADHD: Comfortable working with children who have both ASD and ADHD, understanding their unique needs and challenges, and providing tailored support.
  • Can Foster Self-Confidence: Skilled at building self-esteem in children, particularly in those who struggle with self-belief, like B10 and B7. The Sennie should help these children recognise their strengths and encourage them to take risks and try new tasks.
  • Understands Executive Functioning Challenges: Able to support children with difficulties in focus, organisation, and following through on tasks. The Sennie should provide structure and guidance to help children stay on track and complete tasks.
  • Is Patient and Empathetic: Patient, understanding, and sensitive to the emotional and developmental needs of children. Able to provide calming support when needed and guide them through tasks in a way that makes them feel capable and confident.
  • Can Assist with Daily Routines: Comfortable supporting children with managing their daily routines, including self-care tasks, such as hygiene and dressing, as well as managing school-related activities and personal belongings.
  • Has Strong Communication Skills: Able to clearly communicate and guide children, helping them understand expectations, rules, and routines, while also providing encouragement and positive reinforcement.
  • Can Provide Social Guidance: Experienced in helping children understand social dynamics and navigate peer relationships. Capable of guiding children like B10, who may need help understanding social cues, and encouraging social interactions in a positive way.
  • Is Creative and Fun: Engages children in activities that interest them, such as football, Lego, and other hobbies, and uses their passions to create a fun and engaging learning environment. The Sennie should also be able to make less preferred tasks, like schoolwork, more enjoyable.
  • Is Proactive and Resourceful: Takes the initiative to recognise when children need additional support and is able to implement strategies that help them manage their challenges. Should also be flexible and able to adapt to each child's unique needs throughout the day.
  • Has an Understanding of Interoception: Able to support children in recognising and responding to their body signals (e.g., hunger, tiredness) and teach them self-regulation techniques.
